At about 7:50 am, Tuesday on the 18th of March a KOMO 4 news helicopter crashed in the parking lot of the Space needle. The victims of this crash where pilot Gary Pfitzner and photographer Bill Strothman. Three cars were destroyed in this crash, in one of them was a 38 year old man. He managed to escape but suffered 50% of his body being burned. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a large plume of black smoke rising into the air. Pedestrians were from then on blocked out from the City Centre by firefighters and police. Our thoughts go out to the family's and the KOMO 4 news broadcast teams for their lose.
