Movie Review: Into the Woods
This movie was rated PG
The rating is 4.5 out of 5 stars
Into the woods was an exceptional movie that is loved by many. Into the woods combines many childhood fables into one movie. The fables in the movie includes: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel.
The characters in these fairytales all have many interesting problems. This movie ties them all together when the characters all meet in the woods.
The basic plot of the movie is when all the characters need something they go to the woods; like Little Red Riding Hood getting bread for her grandma, the baker and the bakers wife, Rapunzel to find her prince, Jack to sell his cow, and Cinderella to find the fairy god mother to go to the festival.
A witch asked the baker and his wife to find hair as yellow as corn, a cow as white as milk, a slipper as pure as gold, and a cape as red as blood. The baker and the bakers wife find these items from the other characters. They got Rapunzel's hair, Jacks white cow, Cinderella's slipper, and and Little Red Riding Hoods red cape. The witch wants these items to make herself younger. The story goes on from there.
Overall, this movie is very popular and good. A lot of people have been watching this movie because it is very different and creative.

Though they had searched the whole maze and they never found an exit, but they are hiding that so the people still have hope.
Compared to the Book:
The movie was definitely not as good as the book in my opinion but some people in my class thought it is a lot better than the book. I thought that they left out some of the best parts. I understand that they can't put all of the parts from the book, but still I think at least they would keep the best parts because in the movie I saw sets that could be used for the parts that I thought were the best. Some of the parts of the book were put in different places in the movie.
Final Rating
7/10
I thought it was pretty good and enjoyable but not as good as the book and the parts of the book were strewn around the whole movie. I liked the movie a lot it is definitely a movie to watch and enjoy. I can't wait for the next movie The Scorch Trail.
ALWAYS READ THE BOOK FIRST!!!!!!!!!
Sneakerheads
by: Nate
Lately the sneaker market with Nikes, and Jordans has been growing. This has to do with Sneakerheads, a Sneakerhead is a person who collects and wears sneakers. The sneakers that Sneakerheads wear tend to be Nikes, jordans, Asics, Addidas etc. however there are more brands these are just a few that are popular. This all started with Micheal Jordan, when MJ released his first shoe everyone thought that it could make you fly. Michael Jordan was a professional basketball player who was extremely popular for his incredible slam dunks, and free throws. He was so good that he won 14 MVPs and lots of awards. Soon everyone was calling him Air Jordan. There are around 20 Air Jordan Retros one for each season he played. The reason these shoes are called Air Jordan Retros are because of Nike. Nike is the company that owns Jordan Brand. Since Jordan is no longer playing what Nike does is they release around 20 colorways of Air Jordans a year. A color way is the pattern of color, and design that the shoe has. Lots of shoes have colorways catered to either the player, the players team color, or to a specific thing. Some examples are Lebron South Beaches. Lebron James signed a contract with Nike in 2003, and has 12 models of shoes. Lebron played in Miami for 4 years, and that's why there is a shoe called SouthBeaches. These days a lot of young kids are getting into sneakers. Nike and jordan sneakers can range from 60$ to 6,000,00. Lots of heads buy, and resell sneakers, and host conventions, but one interesting thing that some people do is customize their shoes. They use paint meant for shoe fabric, and materiel. People do customs for sport teams to actual paintings of people or objects. Being a sneakerhead hopefully will be a hobby and lifestyle in decades to come. It's a fun, and good way to learn about money, and buying.
When the Game Stands Tall
by: Emilio Suarez
When the Game Stands Tall in my opinion is the best movie I have ever seen. Let me start with the summary. By the way, this movie is based on a true story. This movie is about a highschool football coach name Bob Ladouceur. He coaches the De La Salle Spartans in California. After years the Spartans have accumulated an 151 game win streak. The seniors try to teach the juniors that its not all fun and games and they need to be serious. The main seniors are T.K. and Cam. One day TK is playing street ball and is beating everybody. The next morning he has to drive to Oregon for college. His cousin call and asks to get picked. TK goes to pick him up. While waiting in the car, one of the people from the basketball court comes up to him. You can't see his face though. He pulls out a gun and shoots TK. A couple weeks later Bob has a stroke. The doctor says he is not allowed to coach football until he is fully recovered. His son Danny gets mad that his dad won’t coach his senior season. Bob recovers faster than expected and is able to coach the team. Their first game they lose, breaking the 151 game winning streak. They lose their second game also. Bob talks to the players and motivates them to do better. They set up a game with the number one ranked team in the US, Cal Poly. All week they train extra hard. The game starts. The Spartans have been battling all half and their starters can't give anymore. All the backups start the second half and they hold their own. Once the starters are fit to play they sub back in. In the fourth quarter the Spartans make an amazing offensive comeback. but their defense wins the game by stopping Cal Poly on 4th&Goal. After that, they get their confidence back and win the rest of their games. And end up winning the championship once again.
I really thought this movie was good because you felt the emotions you were supposed to feel. Like when TK dies and when the Spartans lose their first game. They really did well in that area. I also think the actors were perfect for their role. It was like each one had been practicing for that role for their whole life. All in all an amazing movie in every aspect. I recommend it to anybody and everybody.
How to Make a Minecraft Spleef Mini Game
By Carson
Spleef is a fun mini game in the game Minecraft where people make huge arenas to play it and have a lot of fun. This post will show you with a few steps how to make a cool spleef arena.
Steps
Step one: Build a shape for your spleef arena it can be any size (it has to be made of a easy to break material like snow, dirt, tnt, etc)
Step two: Build a fence around the blocks that you just placed and a path up
Step three: Get a command block (you only can get a command block from cheats. The cheat to get a command block is /give {your player name} command_block)
Step four: Put the command block on a path to the spleef arena the shift and place a pressure plate on it.
Step five: Make the command block give them the appropriate tool to break the tool (in tnts case you would give them flint and steel.) the most common tool will be shovels. (make sure the tool is diamond and/or enchanted)
Step six: Put lava under the arena for them to fall into or make it so you fall into the void.

This game is extremely simple with small obstacles that a bird must pass. The game also keeps score of your points so you can keep check. So far the game has made around $50,000 a day just from the ads alone.
Not only has it gotten high rates, it has also stirred up some major conflict. Dong Nguyen the creator of the game had different feelings about the game’s popularity, especially due to getting mean tweets and rude comments, he has decided to remove it from the App Store.
Now people are selling their iPhones, iPads, and iPods that still have the deleted game on them for huge amounts of money. Sure Flappy Birds is fun to play but has it gotten out of hand? Frozen

Saving Private Ryan Review
By Grant
In case you have been living under a rock your whole life, let me fill you in on this movie. Simply put this on one of the best films ever made list. Currently it sits at number 71 on the American film institute's list of top 100 best films ever made. Ever get sick of the testosterone fueled action heroes who can't die? You should be- Hollywood is filed with them, the hero's who jump out of explosions unscathed and mow down countless faceless enemies without remorse. They are the war machines of American cinema. If those characters sound like your bread and butter this movie is not for you. However if you are looking for a movie that shows the human side of either side of that battlefield, you won't be disappointed.
This is a World War II film directed by Steven Spielberg. Steven Spielberg is one of the best directors out there and almost all of his films have left a lasting impact on his audience from Star Wars, to Jaws, to Indian Jones. They are timeless classics. In this film Spielberg really strived to make a realistic depiction of the horrors of WWII. Although some realism was sacrificed for dramatic effect, the film used many refurbished WWII U-Boats for the landing scene which was filmed Ireland. Local reenactment groups and the Irish reserve defense force were used as extras. Forty Barrels of fake blood were used during the opening scene in Omaha beach to show the blood in the water.
The opening Omaha beach landing was one of the best opening scenes I have seen. It captures the brutality and horror of the actions of both sides. What other movie to you see a U-Boat full of the "good guys" torn to shreds by bullets in a matter of seconds. It just doesn't happen like that right? The good guys never die? Wrong. That's the point of this movie, to open your eyes. I don't know how anyone will watch that seen and not be affected. Some WWII veterans had to leave the theatre because it brought back too many of their painful memories.
As you may have guessed this film starts with the landing at Omaha beach and follows a squad captain and his men in their search for private Ryan. Why are they searching for private Ryan? The general back in D.C. is informed that three Ryan brothers have been killed in action and their mother will be getting all the death notices at the same time. He also finds that there is a fourth Ryan brother who is paratrooper and was dropped somewhere behind enemy lines. Being an idealistic man he feels he must return the surviving Ryan brother to his mother.
The film deals with the tough moral decisions soldiers must make and toll it takes in them. One of my favorite characters is the young translator who has never fired a gun outside of basic training. He is played magnificently by Jeremy Davies. He represents every man who fought the war and who had no idea to the horrors he would see. Saving Private Ryan isn't only a mission but a constant goal that the men can hold on to whether they like it or not, it gives them the purpose and closure that is missing in the chaotic emotional and psychical battlefield of WWII.
The film is beautiful and the impact of it stays with you well after the credits roll. Before watching this movie I had never been affected by seeing soldiers die in movies. But Spielberg conveyed the value of life and how easily it can be taken away. Saving Private Ryan is one of my favorite movies and is a must see for everyone. It is hard to watch and at the same time so easily throws you into the movie then slowly let's you out to contemplate the message of satisfying ending and what saving private Ryan really means.By Sarah

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is the second film adaptation of the 1939 short story with the same name. The first film was directed by Norman Z. McLeod and apparently ranks 479th out of 5000 of the best movies of all time, according to a 2008 issue of Empire Magazine. The 2014 remake is directed by Ben Stiller who also stars in it. Stiller is no newcomer to directing, he has directed several films including The Cable Guy, Tropic Thunder, and Zoolander. None of which I have seen, although Zoolander is on my list.
The target audience of the movie is middle aged adults who may or may not drag their kids along with them. I say this is due to the fact that the plot is essentially a glorified mid-life crisis. The reason they might bring their kids along is to teach them the importance of "living in the moment" and/or "don't let life pass you by" these themes are present throughout the film.
The actual plot centers around a negative assets manager for Time Magazine with a co worker as his love interest. This guy is the biggest day dreamer ever. In the movie he will be drinking coffee then he imagines he is having a superhuman fight with a co worker over a stretch Armstrong doll. The daydreaming is because his regular life is so boring. The film helps reinforce this with well done shots of his daily life. However, this is also where some flaws show; the most glaring of which is that some characters are just not believable. Another problem is some of the computer generated imaging (CGI) during his day dreams could of been better.
Back to the plot. Time Magazine is publishing it's last issue before it transitions into an online platform. Walter is sent a packet of negatives from Sean Penn, the main photographer. Sean leaves specific instructions saying to use negative 25 for the cover, which is the one negative that is missing. With the threat of losing his job, he sets off on this adventure to find the illusive Sean Penn. This is where the film shines, at least for me. The locations he goes to, such as Iceland, Greenland and Tibet, are really interesting. During his adventure there are some pretty funny parts, nothing that will get you rofling but enjoyable nonetheless. Another problem with the film is it is riddled with cliches that you see coming early on.
All and all despite its flaws, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a decent film. If you can get over cliches, the occasional bad CGI, and a few unrealistic characters. However when there are so many better movies that are much more deserving of your time, this one doesn't stand out.
